Interactive City Maps

For interactive representations of complete cities and individual grounds, adress the page

http://www.wb3-project.de/wb_cmap.html?db=<database-name>

in your browser. Example: To display an interactive city map covering the village of Waldbrücke, point at http://www.wb3-project.de/wb_cmap.html?db=waldbruecke

City Overviews

For simple representations of complete cities, adress the page

http://www.wb3-project.de/wb_<type>.<format-ending>?db=<database-name>

in your browser. Example: To display a KML file covering the village of Waldbrücke, point at http://www.wb3-project.de/wb_g.kml?db=waldbruecke

Individual Buildings

For simple representations of individual buildings, adress the page

http://www.wb3-project.de/wb_<type>_id.<format-ending>?db=<database-name>&id=<identifier>

in your browser. Note, that some of these display formats lead into the editor mode and therefore are password protected. Example: To display a PNG file (800x600 pixel) of ground 19029 in the village of Waldbrücke, point at http://www.wb3-project.de/wb_g_id.png?db=waldbruecke&id=19029&vbw=800&vbh=600

Parameters

Type

The <type>-parameter can take the values
  1. g if only grounds and buildings are to be displayed
  2. o if only objects (like e.g. underground pipes) are to be displayed. However, in some output formats this is not yet implemented (will then lead to an error message).
  3. p if grounds, buildings and objects (like e.g. underground pipes) are to be displayed. However, in some output formats this is not yet implemented (will then lead to an error message).
  4. s if streets are to be displayed. However, in some output formats this is not yet implemented (will then lead to an error message or purely XML output).
  5. g_s if grounds and buildings along a street are to be displayed. However, in some formats this is not yet implemented (will then lead to an error message). In case this type is chosen, the name of the street needs to be appended to the request as &street="<street-name>". A table of streets may be obtained by using <type>=s and <format-ending>=html
Other special formats serve to produce Mathematica files, image map files and other options for HTML pages and SQL queries - these are not presented as direct links on the home page.

Format Ending

The second optional part of the page name <format-ending> can take the values
  1. html for a table of entries
  2. svg, jpeg, jpg, png for a 2D graphical representation in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) or as rasterized picture (JPEG or PNG). In this 2D representation, three additional parameters may be appended to the http request (each separated from its neighbors by a &-sign
    • vbw=<graphics width> to specify the width of the generated graphics (default is 1024)
    • vbh=<graphics height> to specify the height of the generated graphics (default is 768)
    • grid=1 if a representation of the local (relative) coordinate system is to be added
  3. x3d, kml, dae, kmz for a 3D representation (X3D + embedded VRML, KML, COLLADA or the mixed KML/COLLADA representation used by Google Earth). For these you need additional software on your computer - like e.g. the Octaga Viewer for X3D, Google Earth for KML and COLLADA
  4. gml for a CityGML representation

Database

The third parameter in the page name <db> is the name of the database - which now may take the values
  1. waldbruecke - to display the village of Waldbrücke
  2. stettfeld - to display the village of Stettfeld, including reconstructed Roman buildings
  3. forst - to display parts of the village of Forst
  4. hska- to display the site of Karlsruhe U of Applied Sciences (under construction)
  5. ka1834 - to display the central part of Karlsruhe in 1834 (under construction)

Identifier

The <id> parameter in the page name is the ground number - which may take values depending on the city chosen. A list of these identifiers is presented in the HTML table overview of the corresponding city.
